Fairy Musketeers (Japanese: おとぎ銃士 赤ずきん, Otogi-Jūshi Akazukin) is a media mix work that began as a Japanese OVA released by Konami in February 2005, and was later adapted into a TV anime series that aired from 2006 to 2007. The story is set long ago in a world where magic and science coexisted. God, fearing humanity's potential, split the world into two: the world of science, Elde, and the world of magic, Phandavale. In Phandavale, a witch named Cendrillon (Cinderella) revives and seeks to rule both worlds, searching for the 'key' of immense power. A boy from Elde, Sōta, meets Akazukin (Little Red Riding Hood) from Phandavale, and her talking wolf companion, Val. Sōta learns he is the key Cendrillon seeks. Now, Akazukin, Val, and the other Fairy Musketeers—Shirayukihime (Snow White) and Ibara (Sleeping Beauty)—must protect Sōta from Cendrillon and her forces. The anime blends magical girl elements with a fantasy adventure, focusing on the quest of a boy and fairy tale heroines to save both worlds.
