EXPLORER WOMAN RAY

"Explorer Woman Ray" is a two-part 1989 OVA anime series produced by Toshiba, based on a manga by Takeshi Okazaki from the previous year. The story follows archeologist Rayna "Ray" Kazuki as she studies the mysterious Ord civilization in South America. While commonly believed to worship the sun, the Ords actually harnessed the power of light, a secret known to Ray and her grandfather. Ray is entrusted with an artifact key to unlocking this power, which her grandfather’s former assistant, Rieg Vader, seeks to possess. Two teenage twin girls, Mai and Mami, who have stolen the artifact, also become involved in the search for treasure, hoping Ray will help them. Ray, both an archeologist and a black belt, must use her intellect and skills to prevent Vader from getting the artifact, which could lead to disaster. The manga version of "Explorer Woman Ray" ran in "Comic NORA" and consists of two volumes and includes a hot spring scene with Mai and Mami.
