This anime is the second work (latter part) in the series depicting the story after "Touch," with the first work (first part) having aired on December 11, 1998, in the same television slot.
The story follows Tatsuya Uesugi, who starts playing baseball and aims for Koshien after the death of baseball ace Kazuya Uesugi in an accident, and Minami Asakura, the rhythmic gymnastics star and heroine. This work depicts Tatsuya going to America to find his own baseball path, joining the minor league team the Green Town Emeralds and playing actively, as well as Minami looking for herself after retiring from rhythmic gymnastics. They are in different places but working towards their own goals.
"Where the Wind Goes" focuses on the choices and growth of the main characters at crossroads in their lives, and their respective dreams and challenges. It is an anime work full of youth, friendship, love, and struggle.
