"Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle the Movie: The Princess in the Birdcage Kingdom" is a short animated film produced by Production I.G, based on the manga "Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle" by CLAMP. It premiered in Japanese theaters on August 20, 2005, alongside "xxxHolic: A Midsummer Night's Dream". Set between the first and second seasons of the "Tsubasa" anime series, the film follows Syaoran and his companions as they journey to the “Country of Birdcages” in search of Sakura's memory feathers. In this seemingly peaceful land where humans and birds live in harmony, they discover that the kingdom is actually oppressed by a tyrannical king. Teaming up with the local princess and rebels, they fight against the evil king and recover one of Sakura's feathers. Directed by Itsuro Kawasaki and co-written by Junichi Fujisaku and Midori Goto, with music composed by Yuki Kajiura, the film received praise for its animation and pacing, but was criticized for its short length, being only ten minutes longer than a regular TV episode. Despite the criticism, it remains a worthwhile watch for fans of the "Tsubasa" series.
