Fate/stay night is a Japanese visual novel game developed by TYPE-MOON, first released in 2004. The story is set in a fictional city called Fuyuki City, and revolves around a secret magical ritual called the "Holy Grail War." In this ritual, seven chosen mages (known as "Masters") form contracts with Heroic Spirits from history and mythology (known as "Servants") to battle for the Holy Grail, which grants wishes. The protagonist, Shirou Emiya, is a high school student who is unexpectedly drawn into the war and allies with a powerful Servant named Saber. The game includes three main story routes: Fate, Unlimited Blade Works, and Heaven's Feel, each featuring a different heroine and plot development, exploring various themes and portraying complex character relationships. In addition to the game, the series has spawned numerous anime, manga, films, and other related works, creating a vast and beloved "Fate" universe.
