ゲンジ通信あげだま

Genji Tsūshin Agedama is a Japanese anime series produced by NAS and TV Tokyo, animated by Studio Gallop. It aired on TV Tokyo from October 4, 1991, to September 25, 1992, for 51 episodes. The story centers on Agedama Genji, a fourth-grade student from 'Hero Planet'. Though seemingly ordinary, he can transform into the superhero 'Agedaman' by combining with his computer friend, Wapuro. He believes in the power of 'Kiai' and tries to solve his problems with it, leading his father to send him and Wapuro to Earth for summer training. Landing in Morisoba City, Japan, Agedama attends East-Morisoba Elementary, where he meets his crush, Ibuki Heike, and the rich girl, Rei Kuki. Unbeknownst to Agedama, Rei's family descends from Nottridamas the 11st, whose predictions are key to world domination. As the villainess 'Onyomiko', Rei and her grandfather use a Monster-Cooker to create monsters, prompting Agedaman to save the day. Beyond the anime, there were two manga series and a PC Engine side-scrolling video game by NEC Home Electronics, as tie-ins.
