Angel Densetsu (Japanese: エンジェル伝説, Hepburn: Enjeru Densetsu, lit. "Legend of Angel") is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Norihiro Yagi. The story centers around Seiichirō Kitano, a kind and naive boy with the heart of an angel, but the sinister looks of a devil. This leads to many misunderstandings, often causing people to assume he is a delinquent or a drug addict. Unbeknownst to himself, he becomes the head thug, or "school guardian" at his new school. The manga was serialized in Shueisha's Monthly Shōnen Jump from 1993 to 2000, with 15 collected volumes. A two-episode original video animation (OVA) adaptation, animated by Toei Animation, was released in 1996. Angel Densetsu is known for its blend of everyday situations with unique comedic elements. The protagonist, Seiichirō Kitano, encounters various humorous scenarios both inside and outside school due to his intimidating appearance. Although kind and peaceful, he is constantly mistaken for a delinquent, creating a contrast and a dark comedic tone in the story. The series is a classic example of school comedy manga.
