Mashin Hero Wataru 2 (魔神英雄伝ワタル2) is the second installment in the Wataru series, continuing the storyline from the original Mashin Hero Wataru. It was produced by SUNRISE and aired on Nippon TV-related channels from March 3, 1990, to March 8, 1991. The series was divided into two parts, with the second part subtitled 'Fight Arc.' The story revolves around Mt. Soukai being in peril once again, prompting Wataru Ikusabe to be summoned back to Shinbukai by Ryujinmaru. It turns out that Star Mountain, the source of Mt. Soukai's rainbow, has been taken over by Dowarudar (Doakudar's brother). If the stars lose their brightness, Soukaizan's rainbow will fade, and everyone will live in darkness forever. Wataru must embark on another journey, traversing the seven star systems and defeating this new, powerful enemy. Mashin Hero Wataru 2 retains the action and adventure elements of the first series, following Wataru and his companions as they adventure through Mt. Soukai. The series introduced new characters and mecha, and enjoyed popularity in Japan and other regions, building upon the success of its predecessor.
