The Wings of Rean

"The Wings of Rean" (リーンの翼, Rīn no Tsubasa) is a light novel series created by Yoshiyuki Tomino, published from 1983 to 1986. It's part of Tomino's "Byston Well" series, sharing the same world setting as "Aura Battler Dunbine" but is set in its own parallel timeline. It was adapted into a six-episode Original Net Animation (ONA), broadcast by Bandai Channel online from December 12, 2005 to August 18, 2006. The story follows Asap Suzuki, a modern-day Japanese teenager who is transported to the alternate world of Byston Well after an accident. There, he encounters Lyx, a princess from Byston Well. The novel details Asap's adventures and how he utilizes his connection to the "Wings of Rean" to bring peace to Byston Well. The anime version is set approximately 70 years after the novel, featuring a world where some characters from the novel have passed away. It has also been adapted into a manga and included in the game "Super Robot Wars UX."
