Space Warrior Baldios the Movie

"Space Warrior Baldios" is a Japanese super robot mecha anime series that premiered in 1980, produced by Ashi Productions. The TV series was canceled during its run due to its tragic ending. A film with the same title was produced by Toei Animation and released on December 19, 1981, serving as the conclusion to the television series. This film combines footage from the TV series with new animation to resolve the unfinished storyline. The story centers on Marin Reigan, from the heavily polluted planet S-1, who pilots the giant robot Baldios to fight against invaders from S-1 and protect Earth. The S-1 people, having polluted their own planet, aim to make Earth their new home. The film expands on the TV series' unaddressed plot points, including a final confrontation between Marin and Gattler and revealing the truth about S-1 and Earth. The movie also explores the concept of a time loop, where the S-1 people themselves polluted Earth, leading to their exodus from S-1.
