貧乏姉妹物語

Binbō Shimai Monogatari (lit. Poor Sisters Story), also known as Flat Broke Sisters, is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Izumi Kazuto. It was serialized in Shogakukan's seinen manga magazine Monthly Sunday Gene-X from April 2004 to October 2006, with its chapters collected in four tankōbon volumes. The story revolves around two sisters: the older sister, Kyō, who is a junior high school student, and the younger sister, Asu, who is an elementary school student. Their mother died the same year Asu was born, and a few years later, their father, burdened with a large gambling debt, ran away, leaving them to fend for themselves. Despite their difficult circumstances, they work hard to live and go to school, receiving help from the people around them from time to time. A ten-episode anime television series adaptation by Toei Animation was broadcast from June to September 2006.
