Fortune Dogs (ふぉうちゅんドッグす, Fōchun Doggusu) is a manga series created by Shuji Kishihara and Yasuharu Tomono, serialized in Kodansha's shōjo manga magazine Nakayoshi, about the lives of 48 puppies. An anime television series was later produced based on the manga. The story centers around a French Bulldog named Alex, who is adopted by a girl named Ai. Alex's journey begins when he is accidentally separated from Ai after boarding the wrong bus. In his quest to return to Ai, he embarks on an adventure and takes the name "Freddy", after the hero of a storybook Ai reads to him. Freddy's journey is not only about returning to his owner but also finding and saving the "Fortune Tree", as its demise would cause all humans to lose their good will and stop caring about their pets. This work combines themes of adventure, friendship, and growth, captivating audiences with its unique storyline and vivid characters. The anime series aired on TV Tokyo from July 4, 2002 to March 29, 2003.
