Artificial Insect Kabutoborg VxV is a Japanese original anime series produced by G&G Entertainment, which aired from 2006 to 2007. It was created to promote the "Kabutoborg" toy line by Takara Tomy. The story is set in a world where "Borg Battles", a popular competition using insect-type toys called "Kabutoborgs", is commonplace. The protagonist, Ryuusei Amanogawa, along with his friends, Katsuji Matsuoka and Ken Ryushou, battles against stronger opponents every day. The anime is well known for its unusual plot development and narrative that breaks conventions, including resolving plot points in the next episode's preview, and the frequent deaths and resurrections of main characters. Despite being a promotional anime for toys, it attracted many viewers with its unique humor and unconventional approach, earning fans the nickname "Borgers." The anime is also noted for its illogical plots and satire of its sponsor's products. It initially aired on BS Japan and Animax in Japan, and also aired in South Korea under the name "Artificial Insect Bug Fighter". In recent years, the anime has gained renewed attention through online platforms and has been released as a Blu-ray set.
