"Miyori no Mori" (lit. "Miyori's Forest") is a Japanese manga series created by Hideji Oda, which began serialization in 2004. The manga was later adapted into an anime film of the same name in 2007. The story revolves around the protagonist Miyori, who encounters forest spirits while living with her grandparents and gradually takes on the responsibility of protecting the forest. The anime film was directed by Nizo Yamamoto, who was the art director for several Studio Ghibli films. The narrative follows Miyori's journey from being a city girl who initially resents her rural surroundings to gradually becoming integrated with nature and establishing a deep friendship with the forest spirits. She also faces threats to the forest and fights back alongside other children and spirits. The work explores the relationship between humans and nature, incorporating fantasy elements to uniquely showcase the harmony and conflict between rural life and the natural environment. The manga also has two sequels: "Miyori no Mori no Shiki" and "Zoku Miyori no Mori no Shiki."
