Batman: Gotham Knight is a 2008 American animated anthology film consisting of six interconnected short films produced in Japanese anime style, set between the events of Batman Begins and The Dark Knight. It is a joint production by Warner Bros. Animation and DC Comics, and features animation from Japanese studios like Studio 4°C, Madhouse, Bee Train, and Production I.G. Each short film has a unique director and artistic style, but all feature Kevin Conroy as the voice of Batman. The stories depict Batman’s battles against Gotham City's mob and various villains. Although set within the world of the Dark Knight trilogy, the producers acknowledge that the plot is not essential to the main film story. Batman: Gotham Knight is the third release in the DC Universe Animated Original Movies series. It is rated PG-13 for stylized violence and has been broadcast on channels like Cartoon Network and later on Adult Swim’s Toonami block. It is also notable as the first DC Original Animated movie with connections to other Batman media.
