Psychic Squad

Psychic Squad, known in Japan as Zettai Karen Children (絶対可憐チルドレン, lit. Absolutely Lovely Children), is a Japanese shōnen manga series written and illustrated by Takashi Shiina. The story revolves around a future where espers (people with psychic abilities) are becoming more common. The Japanese government establishes B.A.B.E.L. (Base of Backing ESP Laboratory) to manage, train, and protect espers, as well as deal with esper-related crimes. The central focus is on "The Children," a trio of exceptionally powerful but mischievous young esper girls: Kaoru Akashi, a psychokinetic; Shiho Sannomiya, a psychometric; and Aoi Nogami, a teleporter. They are supervised by the young prodigy, Koichi Minamoto. Throughout the series, "The Children" and Minamoto confront various organizations with differing views on espers, including P.A.N.D.R.A., a rogue esper group seeking war, the Black Phantom, a mercenary organization that brainwashes espers, and the Normal People, a group of non-espers who view espers as a threat. The manga was serialized in Weekly Shōnen Sunday and adapted into a 51-episode anime series and an OVA, as well as a spin-off anime, Unlimited Psychic Squad, focusing on the main antagonist Kyosuke Hyobu.
