Ikki Tousen: Great Guardians

Ikki Tousen: Great Guardians is the third season of the Ikki Tousen anime series, based on the manga by Yuji Shiozaki. This season aired from June 11 to August 27, 2008, on AT-X, with a total of 12 episodes. Unlike the previous two seasons, Great Guardians features an original storyline and introduces new characters, such as Hakufu's younger sister and another Genpou Saji as an antagonist. The story revolves around Hakufu as she faces new challenges and enemies, exploring themes of her dreams, friendships, and family relationships. In this season, Hakufu grapples not only with external threats but also with inner conflicts and self-doubt. The trust between her and her friends begins to waver, and new enemies place significant pressure on her. Moreover, a girl claiming to be her sister suddenly appears, bringing new complexities to her life. To pursue her dreams and compete globally, Hakufu must first address all these issues. The opening theme is "No x limit" by Ami, and the ending theme is "Kage: Shape of Shadow" by Rio Asaba. Originally licensed by Media Blasters, the series was later re-licensed and released by Funimation.
