"Casshern Sins" (キャシャーン Sins) is a 2008 anime series, a reboot of the 1973 anime "Neo-Human Casshern." Produced by Tatsunoko Production and animated by Madhouse, the series is set in a world where robots have subjugated humanity, ruled by the iron-fisted Braiking Boss. A mysterious girl named Luna is summoned by humans to bring salvation, but Braiking Boss sends his three strongest cyborg warriors, Casshern, Dio, and Leda, to eliminate her. Casshern succeeds in assassinating Luna, triggering a cataclysmic event known as "the Ruin," which leads to the world's demise. Hundreds of years later, Casshern returns with amnesia and must navigate the ruined world to rediscover his memories and purpose. "Casshern Sins" diverges from the original, offering a darker, more pessimistic exploration of life, death, and redemption.
