Natsume`s Book of Friends (2)

The second season of *Natsume's Book of Friends*, also known as *Zoku Natsume Yuujinchou*, continues the story of the first season, following Takashi Natsume, a boy who can see youkai (spirits), and his youkai bodyguard, Madara (nicknamed Nyanko-sensei). Natsume inherited the "Book of Friends" from his grandmother Reiko, which contains the names of youkai she defeated and subjugated. Natsume decides to return these names to the youkai. Throughout this process, he encounters various youkai, some are friendly, while others want to steal the Book of Friends or even harm him. Through these adventures, Natsume gradually understands his relationship with youkai. This season maintains the heartwarming tone of the original manga, presenting standalone stories in each episode, exploring themes of relationships between humans and youkai, loneliness and companionship, memories and emotions. Additionally, the anime gradually uncovers some of the mysteries surrounding Natsume's grandmother, Reiko, allowing the audience to better understand the secrets of this family. The animation is well-produced, with beautiful visuals and melodic music, making it a beloved series.
