"Crayon Shin-chan: Roar! Kasukabe Animal Kingdom" is the 17th film in the Crayon Shin-chan series, released in 2009. The story revolves around the new mayor of Kasukabe, Shizen Mamoru, who promotes environmental activities but is actually the leader of a radical environmental group called "SKBE." His plan is to transform humans into animals using a special drink to stop environmental destruction. The Nohara family accidentally consumes the drink, turning Hiroshi into a chicken and Misae into a leopard. To restore their family, Shin-chan and the Kasukabe Defense Force embark on an adventure. The movie, while having an environmental theme, primarily satirizes extreme environmentalism. It also explores the bond between mother and child. Notably, this was the last Crayon Shin-chan film that the original author, Yoshito Usui, saw before his passing.
