Space Battleship Yamato: Resurrection

Space Battleship Yamato: Resurrection is a 2009 Japanese animated science fiction action film and the latest addition to the Space Battleship Yamato saga. Set in the year 2220, the Earth is threatened by a wandering black hole, forcing humanity to evacuate. The Earth's population is moved to a planet called Amare, ruled by Queen Iriya, about 27,000 light years away. However, during the evacuation, Earth's fleet encounters attacks from the Interstellar Alliance, which is actually controlled by a powerful force called SUS. The protagonist, Susumu Kodai, after experiencing the loss of his wife, once again takes command of the Space Battleship Yamato, leading the fleet into a fierce battle against SUS. In the movie, the Yamato not only protects the evacuating Earth population, but also uncovers the conspiracy of SUS, eventually preventing the black hole from engulfing Earth. This film is the beginning of a series reboot, using a lot of CGI technology, and introducing new technical settings, such as the wave motion gun that can fire in succession. Although a sequel has been announced, it has not been produced to this day.
