天体戦士サンレッド 2

Tentai Senshi Sunred, also known as Astro Fighter Sunred, is a Japanese manga series created by Makoto Kubota, serialized in the magazine Young Gangan. Set in Kawasaki City, Kanagawa Prefecture, it follows the comedic battles between the abrasive hero Sunred and the world-conquering evil organization Florsheim. The unique aspect is that Sunred, despite being a hero, is a rude, unemployed bum, while Florsheim's leader General Vamp and his subordinates are polite and helpful citizens. The manga began serialization in 2004 and was adapted into two seasons of television anime in 2008 and 2009, produced by AIC ASTA and directed by Seiji Kishi. The series is beloved for its unique contrast in character portrayals, local cultural references, and humorous depiction of everyday life, making it a distinctive work in the hero genre. The series also includes other media forms like drama CDs and merchandise. A sequel, Tentai Senshi Sunred N, has also been published, continuing the original style.
