"Kyō no Go no Ni" (Today, in Class 5-2) is a Japanese manga series created by Koharu Sakuraba, originally serialized in Kodansha's Bessatsu Young Magazine from 2002 to 2003. The manga focuses on the daily lives of fifth-grade class 5-2 students, especially a boy named Ryota Sato. In 2006, Shinkūkan produced a 4-episode Original Video Animation (OVA) directed by Makoto Sokuza. These OVAs featured a special audio track where the female characters' voices were replaced by members of the idol group Sweet Kiss, and were released in original and special edit versions. Xebec produced a 13-episode anime adaptation directed by Tsuyoshi Nagasawa, unrelated to the OVAs, which aired on TV Tokyo from October 5 to December 28, 2008. In 2009, Xebec also produced an OVA featuring the same voice cast as the anime adaptation. The series is known for its lighthearted humor and depiction of elementary school life. In 2009, the anime's original soundtrack and an album called "BEST FRIENDS", featuring the anime's opening and ending themes, were also released.
