Okamikakushi: Masque of the Wolf

"Okamikakushi: Masque of the Wolf" (Japanese: おおかみかくし), also known as "Wolfed Away," is a Japanese anime series produced by AIC that aired from January 8, 2010, to March 26, 2010. The anime is an adaptation of the visual novel of the same name, written by Ryukishi07 with character designs by Peach-Pit. The story follows Hiroshi Kuzumi, who moves with his disabled sister to the remote town of Jouga due to his father's work. The town is known for legends of wolf-like creatures, and beneath its seemingly tranquil surface lie hidden secrets. Hiroshi is warmly welcomed by his new classmates, including the overly affectionate Isuzu Tsumuhana and the cold and distant Nemuru Kushinada. However, as time passes, residents of the town begin to disappear, and Hiroshi realizes that something is amiss. Mysterious masked figures wielding scythes stalk the town at night, casting a dark shadow over the community. Hiroshi must uncover the secrets of the town and find a way to protect himself. "Okamikakushi" blends horror, suspense, and supernatural elements, exploring themes of coexistence and the truths that lie beneath the surface.
