Shin Koihime†Musou: Otome Tairan, also known as "True Love Princess Unmatched: Maidens' Great Rebellion," is the third anime adaptation of the Koihime Musou series, based on the visual novel games by BaseSon and Yeti. The anime aired in Japan from April 4 to June 17, 2010. It's set in a reimagined Three Kingdoms era where most of the male historical figures are female. The story follows the adventures surrounding the three main heroines: Liu Bei, Cao Cao, and Sun Quan (later Sun Ce). It continues the series' trend of blending humor, action, and romance, and it is known for its exaggerated super-deformed character designs. The anime version notably diverges from the visual novel's storyline, such as the absence of the protagonist Kazuto Hongo. Additionally, an OVA was released, and the series was licensed in North America by Sentai Filmworks for distribution in the US and Canada.
