Stitch! ~Best Friends Forever~ is a Japanese anime spin-off of Disney's Lilo & Stitch franchise, and it's the second television series in the franchise after Lilo & Stitch: The Series. It takes place years after the events of Leroy & Stitch. The show replaces Lilo with a Japanese girl named Yuna, and is set on a fictional island called Izayoi in the Ryukyu Islands of Okinawa. Stitch and Yuna meet and Stitch begins to do good deeds to make his wish come true. The anime series was animated by Madhouse for its first two seasons and then by Shin-Ei Animation for the third season. It aired in Japan from October 2008 to March 2011, followed by two TV specials. The show continues the themes of friendship, family, and doing good that were found in Lilo & Stitch. In this new setting, Stitch finds new friends and enemies, and eventually finds his place in a new environment. In addition, the show integrates Japanese cultural elements, giving audiences a new experience.
