Moshidora, short for "Moshi Kōkō Yakyū no Joshi Manager ga Drucker no 'Management' o Yondara" (What If the Female Manager of a High School Baseball Team Read Drucker's 'Management'?), is a 2009 Japanese business novel by Natsumi Iwasaki. The story follows Minami Kawashima, a high school girl who becomes the manager of her school's baseball team to help her sick friend. With no prior management experience, she stumbles upon Peter Drucker's book, "Management: Tasks, Responsibilities, Practices," and starts applying its principles to manage the team, aiming to take them to the national tournament. The novel became a bestseller in Japan and was adapted into an anime series, manga, and a live-action movie. The anime was produced by Production I.G and aired in 2011, while the movie starred Atsuko Maeda and was also released in the same year. "Moshidora" gained popularity for its unique combination of business management theory with high school baseball, sparking discussions and influencing business and management practices in Japan.
