Maria Holic Alive

Maria†Holic: Alive (まりあ†ほりっく あらいぶ) is the second anime season of Maria†Holic, directed by Akiyuki Shinbo and Tomokazu Tokoro, and produced by SHAFT. It premiered on April 8, 2011. The series retains the same characters and setting as the first season but does not continue the manga's plot; instead, it presents more misadventures of Kanako Miyamae and her friends at Ame no Kisaki Girls' Academy. Known for its unique comedic style and exaggerated character expressions, Maria†Holic: Alive also includes parodies of yuri elements. The opening themes are "Mōsō Senshi Miyamae Kanako" by Tomokazu Sugita (episodes 1-4) and "Runrunriru Ranranrara" by Yū Kobayashi (episodes 5-12). The ending theme is a cover of Linda Yamamoto's "Dōnimo Tomaranai" performed by Ame no Kisaki Gasshōdan. There is also a special ending song for episode 12, "Don't Mind, Don't Mind!" by Yū Kobayashi. The English dub of the anime is licensed by Sentai Filmworks, with main voice actors including Jessica Calvello (Kanako Miyamae), Monica Rial (Mariya Shidou), and Caitlynn French (Matsurika Shinouji). This season continues the style of the first season while adding new elements, making it a fan favorite.
