Kamisama Dolls (神様ドォルズ), also known as God Dolls, is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Hajime Yamamura. It was serialized in Shogakukan's Monthly Sunday GX magazine from January 2007 to March 2013, with a total of 12 compiled volumes. The story follows Kyouhei Kuga, who moves to Tokyo to escape the events of his hometown. However, he soon discovers that the past isn't so easily left behind. He learns that he is a "seki," an individual capable of controlling ancient wooden "gods" called "kakashi" with his mind. When a kakashi goes rogue in Tokyo, Kyouhei is forced to confront his past and stop it, while also uncovering hidden secrets. The series blends action, science fiction, and mystery elements, exploring the relationships between humans and dolls, as well as the protagonist's growth in the face of responsibility and his past. An anime television adaptation, consisting of 13 episodes, was produced by Brain's Base and aired in 2011.
