Set 12,000 years after the original, the story unfolds on the planet Vega, where humanity is threatened by invaders from the planet Altair. The female population of Altair has been decimated by a mysterious disease, leading them to abduct women from Vega to ensure their race's survival. In response, the Neo-DEAVA organization was formed, piloting giant robots called "Aquaria." The protagonist, Amata Sora, possesses a hidden power. After meeting Mikono Suzushiro, they pilot the legendary robot "Aquarion" and engage in battle against the forces of Altair. The anime carries forward themes of love, mutual understanding, and personal growth from the predecessor series, while presenting them in unique contexts. It also explores themes of love, family relations, and reincarnation. The show is produced by Satelight, directed by Shoji Kawamori, and features music by Yoko Kanno.
