s-CRY-ed Alteration is a special edition produced in 2011 to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the TV anime s-CRY-ed, released in two parts: TAO (the first part) and QUAN (the second part). It is not simply a remake, but an updated version of the original TV series with new footage, re-recorded audio, and a rearranged storyline, aiming to present the story of s-CRY-ed from a fresh perspective. The story is set in a special region called the "Lost Ground," where people possess supernatural powers called "Alters." The protagonists, Kazuma and Ryuho, two Alter users with vastly different personalities, clash due to their respective beliefs, and their fates become intertwined in a heated and intense battle. The work deeply explores themes such as human ways of life, social class differences, and the confrontation between individual will and destiny. In Alteration, viewers can not only revisit the classic but also experience smoother battle scenes and more impactful storytelling.
