Persona 4 The Animation is a television anime series adapted from the PlayStation 2 game Persona 4 developed by Atlus. The story revolves around Yu Narukami, who moves to Inaba to live with his uncle and cousin due to his parents working abroad. While investigating the mysterious 'Midnight Channel' and related serial murders, Yu and his new friends discover a hidden world behind the TV screen and acquire a mysterious power called 'Persona'. They form an investigation team dedicated to rescuing people trapped in the TV world and finding the true culprit. The anime was produced by AIC ASTA and directed by Seiji Kishi. It aired from October 2011 to March 2012, totaling 25 episodes, with a special episode depicting the true ending. The anime is praised for faithfully adapting the original game and its engaging plot and character development, though some criticisms point out issues with pacing and animation quality. In addition to the main series, there is a second anime based on the enhanced version of the game, Persona 4 Golden, called Persona 4 The Golden Animation, which aired in 2014.
