Total Eclipse

"Muv-Luv Alternative: Total Eclipse" is a spin-off series set in the same universe as "Muv-Luv Alternative." The story takes place in 2001, where Earth is under siege by the alien BETA, pushing human civilization to the brink of collapse. To combat the BETA, nations have united to develop large humanoid weapons known as Tactical Surface Fighters (TSFs). The narrative primarily focuses on Project PROMINENCE at Yukon Base in Alaska, which is dedicated to developing the next generation of TSFs. The main characters include Yuuya Bridges, a Japanese-American pilot from the U.S. Army, and Yui Takamura, a pilot from the Japanese Imperial Royal Guard, along with other elite test pilots from around the world. They are tasked with testing the newest experimental TSFs, striving to improve them to enhance humanity's chances against the BETA. The series has multiple adaptations including light novels, an anime, manga, and visual novels, each exploring different storylines within the Total Eclipse universe, and takes place chronologically before the main story of "Muv-Luv Alternative." "Total Eclipse" delves into the themes of war, politics, and complex human relationships, depicting humanity's struggles and hopes against a backdrop of overwhelming conflict.
