Battle Spirits Heroes, also known as Battle Spirits: Haoh, is the fourth anime series based on Bandai's Battle Spirits trading card game. Produced by Sunrise, it aired in Japan from September 18, 2011, to September 2, 2012, with a total of 50 episodes. This series features a different setting compared to its predecessor, Battle Spirits Brave, taking place in a modern Japan. It follows Hajime Hinobori, a middle school student passionate about card games, who, with the help of his parents' "Battle Field System," participates in various tournaments alongside his friends, eventually growing through the World Championship. The anime stands out with its lighthearted and comedic tone, along with its depiction of real-world trading card game scenarios, such as obtaining new cards from vending machines, mentioning meta decks, and experiencing favorite cards becoming banned. The series introduces a new "Heroes" system, with key characters possessing cards from this system. It also debuts the "Burst" card mechanism and emphasizes sophisticated card tactics, such as using BP-boosting magic to prevent opponents' destruction effects and bluffing strategies with various Burst cards.
