Sankarea

Sankarea (さんかれあ), also known as Sankarea: Undying Love, is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Mitsuru Hattori. It was serialized in Kodansha's Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine from December 2009 to September 2014. The story revolves around Chihiro Furuya, a high school student with an obsession for zombies, and Rea Sanka, a wealthy girl who becomes a zombie due to an accident. Chihiro attempts to resurrect his dead cat using a resurrection potion from an old manuscript, which leads him to encounter Rea. Rea, who believes the potion will kill her, drinks it. However, she ends up dying and reviving as a zombie. To survive, Rea must consume hydrangeas, and Chihiro must help her adjust to her new undead life. Sankarea combines elements of comedy, romance, horror, and the supernatural, exploring themes of life, death, love, and accepting differences. The manga was adapted into a television anime series by Studio Deen, which aired in 2012, and also has a novel adaptation.
