Monogatari Series Second Season (物語シリーズ セカンドシーズン) is the second part of the Monogatari anime series, adapted from Nisio Isin's light novel series of the same name. Produced by the animation studio SHAFT, it aired from July to December 2013, comprising 26 episodes. This season is named after the 'Second Season' of the light novel series, not by the order of anime production. The anime adapts the content from five novels: Nekomonogatari (White), Kabukimonogatari, Otorimonogatari, Onimonogatari, and Koimonogatari. The story continues to revolve around protagonist Koyomi Araragi and the girls around him who are involved in various supernatural phenomena. Unlike previous seasons, some stories are told from different characters' perspectives. This season focuses on the girls' loneliness, their confessions, and their departures, exploring more complex relationships and emotional entanglements. It also introduces new characters and antagonists, further expanding the world of the Monogatari series. Visually, Monogatari Series Second Season maintains the unique style of the previous works, while also introducing new color palettes and visual techniques.
