Nezha Conquers the Dragon King, also known as Prince Nezha's Triumph Against Dragon King, is a 1979 Chinese animated fantasy film produced by Shanghai Animation Film Studio. It is an adaptation of the Chinese mythological story of Nezha, particularly from the novel *Investiture of the Gods*. The film follows Nezha's journey from his miraculous birth to his battles with the Dragon King. Born from a lotus flower after his mother, Lady Yin, had a three and half-year pregnancy, Nezha is able to walk and talk from birth and becomes a disciple of the immortal Taiyi Zhenren. The Dragon Kings of the Four Seas, particularly the East Sea Dragon King Ao Guang, have become cruel and destructive, causing storms and droughts. When Ao Guang commands a yaksha to find children to eat, Nezha fights back. This leads to a series of conflicts where Nezha eventually sacrifices himself to protect the people, and is later reborn from a lotus flower with new weapons and abilities. He defeats the Dragon King. The film was screened out of competition at the 1980 Cannes Film Festival and received multiple awards, including the 1980 Film Hundred Flowers Awards for Best Art Film.
