"Gintama: The Movie: The Final Chapter: Be Forever Yorozuya" is a 2013 Japanese animated film produced by Sunrise, based on the Gintama manga and anime series. It was directed by Yoichi Fujita from the anime series, with a story by Hideaki Sorachi. The film focuses on the freelancer samurai Gintoki Sakata in a time-traveling adventure, where he encounters older versions of the people he met in Edo. The story begins when Gintoki catches a movie thief in a cinema and is warped through time, landing in a devastated future five years later. In this future, Edo is in ruins, and Gintoki is presumed dead. A virus called the “White Curse” is spreading, pushing humanity to the brink of extinction. Gintoki reunites with a grown-up Shinpachi Shimura and Kagura, who are both grieving over his disappearance. To save the future, they work together to uncover the origins of the White Curse and confront the culprits behind the catastrophe. Ultimately, Gintoki and his friends succeed in stopping the White Curse and return to their original timeline. The movie ends with them meeting again in the past, suggesting that their destinies are intertwined even after the past is changed.
