"Danganronpa: The Animation" is a television anime series produced by Lerche, based on Spike Chunsoft's 2010 visual novel game of the same name. The 13-episode adaptation aired on MBS' Animeism programming block between July and September 2013. The story follows 16 high school students, each possessing exceptional talents, who are trapped inside Hope's Peak Academy and forced to participate in a deadly game orchestrated by a mysterious bear-like figure named Monokuma. To escape, students must murder another classmate without being caught. The anime faithfully adapts the main storyline of the game, focusing on protagonist Makoto Naegi and depicting the brutal struggle for survival and the reasoning process the students endure in this desperate environment. The series has been licensed in several countries and regions and translated into multiple languages. In addition to the anime, spin-offs such as light novels and manga have also been released. The "Danganronpa" series has gained widespread popularity for its unique plot, character design, and suspenseful mystery elements.
