"Mushibugyo" (ムシブギョー) is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Hiroshi Fukuda. It was originally serialized in "Weekly Shonen Sunday Super" from 2009 to 2010. A second series, "Jōjū Senjin!! Mushibugyō," a retelling of the original, was serialized in "Weekly Shonen Sunday" from 2011 to 2017. The story is set in Edo-era Tokyo, where giant insects called “Mushi” threaten the survival of humans. To combat these insects, the shogunate established a special organization called the “Mushibugyo.” The protagonist, Jinbei Tsukishima, joins the Mushibugyo in place of his father, and fights alongside his comrades against the Mushi threat to protect the peace of Edo. The series is known for its unique setting and intense action sequences. An anime adaptation of the manga, also titled "Mushibugyo," was broadcast in 2013, produced by Seven Arcs, and depicts the protagonists fighting against various forms of giant insects, with the inclusion of original story elements.
