Day Break Illusion

Day Break Illusion (幻影ヲ駆ケル太陽, Gen'ei o Kakeru Taiyō, Italian: il sole penetra le illusioni), also known as "The Sun That Penetrates Illusions," is an original anime series produced by AIC and Aniplex. The series aired in Japan from July to September 2013 and was simulcast by Crunchyroll. The story is set in a world plagued by creatures called Daemonia, which exploit people's negative emotions and transform them into monsters. To combat these threats, girls from 22 special bloodlines are chosen to wield the power of the Elemental Tarot. The main protagonist, Akari Taiyo, is a 12-year-old girl who becomes the wielder of the "Sun" card and joins the mysterious organization "Sefiro Fiore" to fight against the Daemonia alongside other card wielders. However, Akari soon learns that their duty comes with an unbearable guilt, as defeating the Daemonia requires the demise of the humans they possess. The anime also has manga and light novel adaptations, which expand upon the story's world and characters. The series is known for its dark magical girl theme, the use of tarot cards, and its profound exploration of human emotions and destiny.
