Nobunagun

Nobunagun (ノブナガン) is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Masato Hisa. The story follows high school girl Shio Ogura, who awakens as an "E-Gene Holder" during a school trip to Taiwan, becoming the reincarnation of the warlord Oda Nobunaga. She joins DOGOO, a supranational organization, to fight against alien creatures known as "Evolutionary Invaders." E-Gene Holders use AU spheres to summon weapons imbued with the spirits of historical figures; Shio's AU weapon is a massive machine gun representing Oda Nobunaga. The manga was serialized in Comic Earth Star magazine from May 2011 to August 2015, and compiled into six tankōbon volumes. An anime television adaptation by studio Bridge aired from January to March 2014, consisting of 13 episodes. The anime was streamed with English subtitles by Crunchyroll and Funimation, attracting attention from anime reviewers. The series is noted for its unique blend of historical figures and sci-fi action, incorporating Kaiju themes, and has received mixed reviews for its story and animation quality.
