Noragami (ノラガミ, lit. Stray God) is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Adachitoka. It was serialized in Kodansha's Monthly Shōnen Magazine from December 2010 to January 2024. The story revolves around Yato, a minor and relatively unknown god who dreams of having millions of worshippers and his own shrine. He takes on odd jobs for five yen apiece until he encounters Hiyori Iki, a high school girl whose soul becomes loose after an accident. Hiyori, able to see gods and spirits, finds herself pulled into Yato's world along with his Regalia, Yukine. The series blends Shinto mythology, fantasy, and action, exploring themes of gods and humans, life and death, and identity. Noragami has been compiled into 27 tankōbon volumes and has been adapted into two anime seasons, produced by Bones in 2014 and 2015. The series has garnered acclaim for its engaging plot, distinctive character designs, and impressive animation.
