Fate/stay night [Unlimited Blade Works]

Fate/stay night [Unlimited Blade Works] is an anime adaptation of the 'Unlimited Blade Works' route from the visual novel Fate/stay night by Type-Moon. Set in the fictional Fuyuki City, the story follows high school student Shirou Emiya who gets unexpectedly caught up in the Fifth Holy Grail War. This war is a battle royale involving seven mages (Masters) and their summoned Heroic Spirits (Servants), all vying for the Holy Grail, an artifact capable of granting any wish. Shirou summons the Servant Saber and forms an alliance with Rin Tohsaka, another Master, and her Servant Archer. However, Archer's true identity and motivations remain shrouded in mystery, presenting numerous challenges for Shirou. The anime, produced by ufotable, is lauded for its stunning animation and deep character development. It delves into Shirou's ideal of being a 'Hero of Justice' and the conflicts between that ideal and reality, as well as his search for his own meaning. The series aired in two seasons, with a theatrical film as well, in 2014 and 2015, and is a beloved installment in the Fate franchise.
