"Laughing Under the Clouds" (Japanese: 曇天に笑う, Donten ni Warau), also known as "Cloudy Laugh," is a Japanese supernatural manga series created by Karakara-Kemuri. It was serialized in Mag Garden's Monthly Comic Avarus magazine. The series has been adapted into an anime television series. Set during the Meiji Restoration, the story follows the three Kumō brothers—Tenka, Soramaru, and Chūtarō—who transport criminals to a prison in the middle of Lake Biwa. They gradually discover their connection to the Orochi, a giant serpent that revives every 300 years, and their destiny to destroy it. The work also includes the sequel manga "Laughing Under the Clouds Gaiden" and the prequel manga "Laughing in Limbo." There are also an anime theatrical film trilogy and a live-action film adaptation.
