Wizard Barristers: Benmashi Cecil is an original television anime series produced by Arms and directed by Yasuomi Umetsu. The series is set in 2018 Tokyo, where normal humans and magic users coexist. Due to laws against using magic, a “magic courtroom” exists, where “Benmashi” or wizard barristers defend those accused of magic-related crimes. The story follows Cecil Sudo, the youngest Benmashi in history, as she joins the Butterfly Law Office and takes on various magical cases. The anime aired from January 12, 2014, to March 30, 2014, totaling 12 episodes. It blends fantasy and legal drama, depicting Cecil's growth as she handles cases and interacts with colleagues and rivals. A light novel, 'Wizard Barrister: Benmashi Cecil The Beginning,' also exists, detailing Cecil's life before becoming a barrister.
