Hamatora is a Japanese mixed-media project created by Natsu Matsumai and Yūki Kodama. It began as a manga series written by Yukino Kitajima and illustrated by Yūki Kodama, and was later adapted into the anime series *Hamatora The Animation*. Set in Yokohama in 2014, the story revolves around individuals known as “Minimum Holders,” who possess unique supernatural abilities called “Minimums.” The protagonist, Nice, is a Minimum Holder who establishes a detective agency called “Hamatora” with his partner, Murasaki. They operate out of Café Nowhere, taking on various cases. The narrative evolves into an investigation of a series of murders targeting Minimum Holders, leading them into conflict with Moral, a former academy professor. The first season of the anime consists of 12 episodes, produced by NAZ animation studio, followed by a second season, *Re: Hamatora*, produced by Lerche. The series blends supernatural abilities, mystery, and action, while exploring themes of discrimination against those with powers and their search for identity. It is noted for its unique animation style and storytelling. Despite mixed reviews, its mystery elements and character development have been praised.
