Detective Conan: The Disappearance of Conan Edogawa ~The Worst Two Days in History~ is a two-hour TV special anime commemorating the 20th anniversary of the Detective Conan manga serialization. It aired on December 26, 2014, on 'Kinyo Road SHOW!'. The story blends the world of Detective Conan with elements from the movie 'Key of Life' (also known as 'The Method of Key Thief'), with Kenji Uchida as the screenwriter, drawing inspiration from the 1926 disappearance of Agatha Christie. The plot involves Conan being kidnapped at a bathhouse, losing his memory, and becoming embroiled in a complex conspiracy. It features characters from 'Key of Life,' such as the hitman Kondo and his wife Kanae, and includes scenes and props from that movie. Ai Haibara also plays an active role in the special, and the narrative uses a multi-perspective approach, presenting the story from different characters' points of view until the truth is revealed. The special also incorporates adult elements such as smoking scenes and nudity. This special is also the last work of the series' sound director, Yasuo Urakami.
