ブレイクブレイド BROKEN BLADE (2014)

Broken Blade (ブレイクブレイド, Bureiku Bureido), also known as Break Blade, is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Yunosuke Yoshinaga. The story is set on the continent of Cruzon, where people are born with the ability to manipulate quartz, a power considered 'magic' used for everything from machinery to operating giant mecha called Golems. The protagonist, Rygart Arrow, is an 'un-sorcerer' unable to wield quartz, making him an outcast. However, when the Kingdom of Krisna is invaded by the Athens Commonwealth, Rygart discovers his ability to pilot an ancient Golem far superior to modern ones, forcing him into a brutal war to protect his friends, the King and Queen of Krisna, as well as a former comrade. The series is known for its unique mecha designs, deep exploration of war, and complex characters. It was adapted into six animated films and a 12-episode anime series that aired in 2014, significantly expanding its reach.
