"The Seven Deadly Sins" (Japanese: 七つの大罪, Nanatsu no Taizai) is a Japanese fantasy manga series written and illustrated by Nakaba Suzuki. It was serialized in Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen Magazine from 2012 to 2020. Set in a world resembling medieval Europe, the story follows the titular group of knights known as the Seven Deadly Sins. This group consists of seven criminals who were each convicted of grievous crimes, and who have carved symbols of seven beasts onto their bodies. They were framed for treason and disbanded, but reunite ten years later to save their kingdom. The manga has been adapted into multiple anime series, including "The Seven Deadly Sins," "The Seven Deadly Sins: Revival of The Commandments," and "The Seven Deadly Sins: Dragon's Judgement," as well as two animated theatrical films and several original video animations. The series draws inspiration from Arthurian legend while incorporating fantasy elements that enhance the narrative. The manga has over 55 million copies in circulation worldwide, making it one of the best-selling manga series.
